Growing up in a family of builders, Rebecca inherited a passion for construction and found herself very involved working alongside her dad on his various projects since she was very young. Her first paying job was sweeping the sawdust and cleaning up the job site for her dad and uncle at Eaton Brother’s Construction. She loved working with her dad on his projects and eventually gained a little experience in all parts of construction from pouring foundations to framing, roofing, siding, finish work and especially painting, lots of painting. She and her sister even spent a summer painting a house for a client. Rebecca spent much of her time drawing and sketching as a child and knew from a young age that she wanted to create beautiful things and pursue a career in design. Her senior year of high school, she was the only female student in the Architectural Drafting program and won the first-place blue ribbon on every project they were assigned. Additionally, she entered a Vacation Home Design competition for prospective students at New England Institute of Technology and again won first place receiving a scholarship towards her enrollment. She attended there and received her Degree in Interior Design. After graduating, she quickly was hired by her dad and uncle to draft plans. Although it wasn’t “interior design” per say, Rebecca found herself much more interested in the technical side of design and grew in a career of designing and drafting hundreds of structures. Mostly residential work, but here and there she would also work on small commercial designs. She was very involved in the construction process and assisted in project management. During those days, most of the clients were making their own finish & fixture selections but she was often pulled in for making those decisions.
